Gently flipping her curly, sand-dune inspired hair, Nicole Brumgardner opens a soda with her long red nails and curses as she breaks one. "I KNEW that was going to happen, and yet I did it anyway! It's like I have to test the universe to see if it's really going to follow the laws of ...

Forever Written by: Kristen S Kuhns [ksk]

I am one of the original workers on this website. The CEO had actually reserved this name in 1997, and has been thinking about a site like this ever since. When the time seemed right, what with the influx of new user generated content (often referred to as "Web 2.0") and newly emerging technologies such as Ajax and more, they decided to build and launch. The question to answer was - what happens to all that content when other sites fail/ are bought and shuttered/ or content gets too old & the owners have no need to continue paying the storage costs?

I'm very proud of this site & everyone's hard work on it. The people on this site are always working on improving the "user experience" when people add their Stories.

I'm going to start my story of my life with stories of all the dogs I've had (and have). I am truly a dog lover and gravitate towards others who love animals, although I understand they are not for everyone. So bear with me while I sort through the complexity that is fondness of the human-canine variety and work backwards from there.

I currently live in the East Bay of San Francisco, spend a lot of time in "the city", Silicon Valley, and Tahoe. I like the East Bay a lot, and helped found a large non-profit association there that put on events and more for technology people. I care very much about the community here and want it to thrive. I believe that being able to "have it all" is important - job that makes you feel as though your contributions matter and is challenging, family and friends, volunteer time, and fulfillment.

Thanks for reading. I hope that you come back often to Story of My Life.
